Robert Crooke, author of American Family, is an experienced journalist, writer and media executive. He is co-author of Between Ocean and Empire: An Illustrated History of Long Island, and his poetry has been published in the West Hills Review, the literary journal of the Walt Whitman Birthplace in Long Island. He contributed original dramas for a radio series affiliated with the former Chicago Tribune/New York Daily News Syndicate, and he began his career as a sports reporter and columnist for the Long Island Press. For 13 years, he served as the North American press spokesman for Reuters, the international news and information group. In recent years he has published articles about business and the media in The Hartford Courant and The Litchfield County Times, but now devotes his time to writing fiction, and advising international corporations on their relations with the news media. He and his wife Angela reside in Bridgewater, CT. American Family, published in January 2005, is his first novel.
